CPMS 5/6 Team Rocks at Park City Ski Town Shootout

The Cedar Park lacrosse club was the first club in Austin to send a team to the Ski Town Shootout in Park City in June. It was a great lacrosse festival with a lot of excellent teams from mostly the west. The Cedar Park Timberwolves team (5th & 6th grade) did very well against select travel teams from Utah, Idaho, Fort Collins, CO and Orange County, CA. These teams are similar in skill level to the Austin ATX team and the only way to get on the team is to try out in a very competitive format.
We won one out of five games but we played each team very competitively and held our own for most of the game but ran out of gas in the second half since we only had one sub. It was great to see the other teams look at the Timberwolves with respect seeing what we could do with limited numbers. We had seven players from our club and four from other local teams. The weather was perfect especially considering how hot it has been in Austin. Highs were in the low 70s and there was even this strange wet stuff falling from the sky. I think they call it rain. We all had a great time and will plan on being there next year with two teams- 5-6 and 7-8.
