Austin, TX -

AUSTIN, TX - The Cedar Park Timberwolves surprised a lot of people this year and had a magical run through the playoffs, but the magic ended at House Park Field in the District Finals.   Cedar Park spotted Bowie four goals to open the game, but came back with three of their own to trail by only one after the first quarter.  Bowie extended their lead to 9-5 by halftime and added two more in the third quarter while holding Cedar Park scoreless.  Bowie killed time as best they could in the fourth quarter and finally added a twelfth goal late in the period.  Cedar Park got two goals back in the final minutes but it was too little too late, and the Timberwolves fell by a final score of 12-7.

The Timberwolves finished their season with a 9-9 record and marked several firsts for the season.

  • First team in Central Texas to win any playoff games in their first year in D1 (CP won two)
  • First team in Central Texas and perhaps the state to reach the District Finals in their first year in D1
