SAN ANTONIO, TX - The Cedar Park Timberwolves traveled to San Antonio to play what was originally a home game vs. St. Mary’s Hall. The T-wolves ran out to a 9-3 lead, but a string of penalties led to Cedar Park playing much of the fourth quarter down a man and St. Mary’s Hall came charging back. Cedar Park held on to win 10-8 and traveled home with a much-needed win. The Timberwolves are now in a four-way tie for third place in the league with all four teams having a 4-2 district record. “It wasn’t pretty, but we held on for the win.” said Cedar Park Coach Chris Knight after the game.
Cedar Park’s last three opponents are the teams with whom they are tied, so the season is setting up for a thrilling finish. Their final home game is next Tuesday vs. Westwood at CPHS. They will visit Bowie on Friday, April 17 and then travel to Westlake on April 21. If they win all three remaining games, they will finish in second place and secure a first-round playoff bye. If they lose all three, they may be tied for the last playoff spot. The regular season ends on April 23; first round playoff games will be held during the following six days, and the District Championships will be held at House Park in Austin the weekend of May 2-3.
