CEDAR PARK, TX February 28, 2009 - The Cedar Park Timberwolves experienced a setback today, dropping a 17-6 decision to visiting Highland Park DII. Highland Park jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first seven minutes and didn’t look back, leading 7-1 in the first quarter and 12-3 at halftime, before cruising to the 17-6 win. Highland Park combined keen passing and accurate shooting on offense with a suffocating, aggressive defense to subdue the T-wolves.
Ryan Fairclough led the team in defeat with four goals, followed by two goals from Zach Duncan. Defensively, goalie Colton Yarborough had eighteen saves. Rylan Gilley led the defense with seven ground balls followed by Holden Ilseng with four.
The Timberwolves (3-2, 2-0) travel next to St. Andrews on Saturday, March 7 for a district game and their last varsity contest before spring break.
