About CP LAX
The Cedar Park Boys Lacrosse Club was founded in 2001 and originally drew players from all of Leander ISD. The team is a member of the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL), which is the governing body for boys High School
lacrosse in Texas. Timberwolf lacrosse is a recognized club sport at Cedar Park High School with a faculty advisor sponsoring the club within the school. However, the club is run by a parent board and receives no funding from CPHS or Leander ISD. All funding is derived from player dues and club fundraising activities.
History: In 2005, the team split and spun off a Leander High School team. Both teams were coached by Lynn Calhoun at the time. After the 2005 season, the team hired coach Chris Knight and Coach Calhoun remained with the Leander HS team (now renamed Vista Ridge High School Lacrosse Team) From that point forward, the Cedar Park Lacrosse team drew players from only Cedar Park High School. Today, the team functions as a club sport for Cedar Park High School and is recognized as a high school club.
The team has grown considerably in the last few years. A brief timeline of key events are as follows:
