Coaches
Chris Knight
Chris Knight is the head coach for the Cedar Park High School lacrosse team. He has been involved with sports in central Texas for almost ten years. As a member of the Austin chapter of Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO), he officiates Basketball and Volleyball at the high school and middle school levels. As a member of the Southwest Lacrosse Officials Association (SWLOA) and US Lacrosse, he officiates at the high school and youth levels as well as men’s club games. And as a member of the College Officials Committee (COC), he is certified to officiate college lacrosse games. Coach Knight is employed by AnalySys Inc. as volatile organic chemist and he is married with one son. His wife Jennifer and son Braden are very supportive in his busy sports schedule and are both fixtures in the stands at nearly every Cedar Park Lacrosse game. Coach Knight often says that he wouldn’t be able to officiate and coach without them. Coach Knight’s freshmen in his first year are graduating seniors this year playing in their final high school season. Coach Knight’s span as the Timberwolves Coach has had many successes under leadership. In 2006, Cedar Park won their first “Sportsmanship Award,” an accomplishment of which Coach Knight is most proud. The sportsmanship award is given by the Friends of Central Texas Lacrosse to the team that best demonstrates the attributes of respect, integrity, teamwork, control and exemplary behavior, serving as a model for other Central Texas clubs to follow. He led the team to their first winning season in 2007 when the T-wolves 12-7 season ended in the district semifinal game, and last year took the team to an 18-4 season, an undefeated district schedule, a Central District Championship and a State Division II semifinal appearance where they nearly advanced to the State final game. The 2009 season marked Cedar Park's first effort after moving up to Division I, and ended with Cedar Park becoming not only the first team in Central District history to win a playoff game in their first year in DI, but also to advance to the district finals (2-1 in the playoffs). Coach Knight also put considerable hours into starting Cedar Park's Middle School program which fielded two 5th-6th grade teams and two 7th-8th grade teams in 2009. The 2010 season promises to be even better with more excitement to come. Coach Knight: “My goal as coach of the Cedar Park Timberwolves is not only to win games, but to lead by example and to help turn your boys into responsible young men. This is a very exciting season for us. With everyone’s hard work, it will be most successful. The tradition continues with you!” Contact: coachknightcplax@gmail.com
